We order from chelo's at least once a week for our fire dept. Food is always cooked to perfection and have a wide variety of seasonal and annual meals. Staff is always awesome, friendly and engaging even when they're crazy busy! Restaurant is always clean and they get folks seated very quickly.

Chelo's is always a fantastic choice for a meal! I frequent the Providence location, which has such a lively atmosphere, perfect for catching a game on one of their many TVs. Whether you're there with friends or family, it's a great spot to unwind and enjoy some good food. Their appetizers are top-notch. The calamari is one of my favorites--it's perfectly fried and served with hot peppers that pack a nice kick of heat, so be ready for a bit of spice! The potato skins are another standout. They come in a generous portion, with perfectly crispy skins and a deliciously cheesy topping. The burgers are consistently excellent--juicy, flavorful, and made with a nice-sized beef patty. They're always cooked just right and paired with fresh toppings. If you're in the mood for something lighter, the Cobb salad is a solid choice. The blue cheese dressing is rich and creamy, complementing the fresh ingredients perfectly. While Providence is my usual go-to spot, I've occasionally visited the Smithfield location and found the service there to be just a notch better. The staff is attentive, friendly, and quick to ensure everything is just right. No matter the location, Chelo's delivers a consistently enjoyable dining experience with great food, a fun atmosphere, and reasonable prices.

Grilled tuna sandwich is amazing its got a sweet flavor, and the toasted bread perfect combo. Steak fries are great too.

The food at this place is good and price reasonable for a person watching bottom line. The go to when going out with picky or dietary restrictions person. They have a large menu and always something for everyone. The service is friendly and the place is always hoping not sure if the specials or the sports on every screen.

I ordered in so I have not been there in person, but the food was really good! They did give my order to the wrong person at first but were quick to correct.

It's been so long since I've been to a Chelos but it's still a reliable dinning stop. Never too busy, quick to get a table even on a Saturday night. A good family place, nothing fancy. Great service, our waitress Camila was very nice and attentive. Food and drinks were good; deserts always delicious and big portions.

Went there for their Early Bird special (2:30-5pm) and because it was a Wednesday, I could pick the Fish and Chips. For $9.99 you get one piece of fried fish with chips (I chose their curly fries), along with tartar sauce and Cole slaw. The quality of the food was evident..everything tasted very fresh and delicious. I found the one piece of fish a bit small compared to portions I used to get before the pandemic, but I understand, everything has gotten pricier. The Chelo's Hometown Bar & Grille of today is a Rhode Island staple that can be found across the state at 8 different locations - Smithfield, Woonsocket, Providence, Warwick, Cranston, Rumford, East Providence, and their Waterfront location on Greenwich Bay. The story of Rhode Island's largest family-owned restaurant chain goes all the way back to 1955 on Cumberland's bustling Mendon Road. The original four Chelo brothers had a vision of fresh food and fantastic service at a great value. It was no easy task, but it was something they succeeded in creating. The motto amongst them was "If you are not proud of it, do not serve it" - those words can be found in each and every one of their kitchens to this very day! Now close to be celebrating their 70th year serving the Rhode Island community, their core values have not changed in the slightest. Their food is still made fresh 7 days a week in their commissary in Warwick - same ingredients, same recipes, and same great Chelo's food Rhode Islanders have to come to know and love since 1955! Chelo's uses local, fresh ingredients in all of their recipes and you can taste the quality of the food.
